The Verge reported on February 12, 2024 that Prime Video without the ad-free add-on no longer streamed in Dolby Vision HDR or Dolby Atmos sound, weeks after ads began on January 29. An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the two formats were now only available on the ad free option. Amazon hasn't said when the change started. Amazon's March 2026 Prime Video Ultra post lists Dolby Vision as newly available on the included tier from April 10, 2026, with Dolby Atmos still Ultra-only.
