What counts as a change

A change goes in only if it affects at least one of four things:

• What you pay: prices, billing, fees and trials.
• What you get: features, quality, usage limits and included content.
• What you're allowed to do: terms, sharing, regions and how your data is used.
• Whether you can continue: shutdowns, retired features and forced moves to another plan.

If none of these apply, it isn't recorded. No rumours, leaks or opinion.

Where the evidence comes from

• Official sources first: pricing pages, help centers, terms, company blogs and shareholder letters.
• Archived copies of those pages (the Wayback Machine) from just before and just after a change, to show the before and after.
• News reports only as extra support, never as the only source for a price or date when an official one exists.
• We quote what a source says or leave it out. We never guess a value or a date. When sources only show that a change happened by a certain day, the date is marked “on or before”.
• Anything plausible but unconfirmed stays out until it can be sourced.

Better, worse or mixed

Each change is labeled by what it means for you, using the same rules for every service:

• A price rise on an existing plan is worse; a price cut is better.
• A new plan cheaper than every existing paid plan is better. A new, more expensive plan is neutral: your existing options didn't change.
• A retired model or feature is mixed if the company names a replacement, and worse if it doesn't.
• A change with both better and worse parts is mixed, and each part is labeled on the record.

How sure we are

• Verified: an official source plus archived before and after pages.
• High confidence: an official source, or strong archive evidence.
• Medium confidence: only secondary sources, and they agree.

Records are also marked observed (we saw the change happen) or reconstructed (pieced together afterwards from archives and announcements). All prices are for the US unless a record says otherwise.
