When you upgrade to Ultimate, Xbox converts prepaid time on other plans. Xbox Support, captured September 30, 2025: 'Xbox Game Pass Core conversion ratio: Any remaining time will convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 2:1'. Captured October 4, 2025: 'Xbox Game Pass Essential conversion percentage: 40% of your remaining time will convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time'. PC Game Pass went from 3:2 to 65%, Standard/Premium and Game Pass for Console from 4:3 to 55%, and EA Play from 3:1 to 20%. The change appeared between the two captures (the new plans launched on October 1, 2025); no source gives the exact date.
