A new middle option between Core ($9.99) and Ultimate ($19.99): hundreds of console games and online play, but no day-one games or cloud gaming. Xbox said it combines features of Game Pass for Console, closed to new members since July, and Game Pass Core.

Xbox Wire (September 10, 2024): 'Starting today, we are launching a new plan for Xbox Game Pass – Game Pass Standard.' On top of 'all of the benefits you receive with Game Pass Core, including online console multiplayer and member discounts', members 'get access to hundreds of high-quality console games'. Xbox Support gave the US price as $14.99 and said 'Game Pass Standard will not include games released on day one'; some Ultimate day-one games may be added later, which 'could be up to 12 months or more'. Ultimate 'also includes day one titles, specific entries to the Game Pass Ultimate library, access to EA Play, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Perks, Quests'. The Xbox Store listed Standard at $14.99 a month on September 11, 2024.
