The June 20, 2024 release says “today, we’re introducing recovery codes.” A previously generated code plus access to the account email lets a user recover after losing an account password or Secret Key. Existing family-organizer recovery remains available. This records a new recovery feature, without claiming recovery is possible without the required code and email. A November 4, 2025 archived official copy preserves the June 20, 2024 announcement and explicitly describes the previously missing self-recovery option.
