Mixed: Philo Core costs $5/mo more, and now includes HBO Max Basic with Ads and discovery+ (with ads). Philo's blog post of September 30, 2025 (CEO Mike Keyserling) says that as of that day Philo Core subscribers get access to the ad-supported tiers of HBO Max and discovery+ (activated in their own apps). “New subscribers can access the enhanced Core package immediately at $33* per month”; “Current subscribers will receive access to both premium services at their current price for one month, after which the Core package increases to $33* monthly.” The asterisk: $33/month plus tax when billed through Philo.com; prices vary through other platforms. Archived copies of philo.com show $28/month on August 1, 2025 and $33/month on October 2, 2025. Unlike the 2024 increase, current Core subscribers are moved to the new price.
