Discord's blog post "Introducing Discord Nitro Basic" (October 17, 2022) says: "With the launch of Nitro Basic, the Nitro Classic plan will no longer be available for new members," and that members who already have Nitro Classic "can keep your existing plan as long as your membership is active." It does not call Nitro Basic a replacement. An archived copy of the US Nitro page from September 13, 2022 lists Nitro Classic at $4.99 per month ($49.99 per year); the page no longer shows it from the September 19, 2022 archived copy, a month before the announcement. The Nitro help article (archived November 2, 2022) says "Nitro Classic is not available for purchase" and that members who cancel "will not be able to re-subscribe to Classic." Nitro Classic had included custom emoji anywhere, an animated avatar and 50MB uploads, per the help article archived October 3, 2022. Discord's May 2026 Nitro Rewards help article still refers to Nitro Classic members, so the plan continues for existing members.
