Plus, Family and Professional subscribers lost the extra PIN-protected folder for sensitive documents. Their files stayed, but in a normal folder anyone with access to the account can open.

Dropbox Help said Vault would no longer be available starting Mar 4, 2025.
The same article said Vault was available on the Plus, Professional and Family plans.
Vault folders were converted to regular folders that no longer need a PIN.
A Dropbox staff member confirmed the decision in the Dropbox Community.

Dropbox Help's Vault article (updated January 27, 2025; archived March 3, 2025): 'Vault will no longer be available starting March 4, 2025. On that date, your Vault folder will be automatically converted to a regular Dropbox folder, which you will not need a PIN to access.' The same article: 'This feature is available to users on the Dropbox Plus, Professional, and Family plans.' A Dropbox staff answer in the Dropbox Community (January 27, 2025) gave the reason: 'To concentrate our efforts on further improving our existing security features and building new capabilities around advanced data protection, we’ve made the decision to discontinue Dropbox Vault.' No replacement was named for individual plans; the old Vault help address now redirects to an article on encrypted team folders for Business Plus, Advanced and Enterprise teams.
