Philo's blog post of May 29, 2024 (CEO Andrew McCollum) says Philo had 70+ free channels and that “What’s new is that users will now be able to sign up to watch and record a majority of free channels without being a Core subscriber or providing a credit card”; the same post says users “can immediately begin watching more than 70+ free channels” without providing payment information. Philo's subscription plans help page, archived December 1, 2024, describes the Free Channels experience: 100+ ad-supported Free Channels at no cost, no credit card required, with select content saved and recorded for up to 30 days. Philo's help pages (live check September 26, 2026) still offer Free Channels at no cost.
