Discord's changelog "Discord Update: April 14, 2023 Changelog" (posted April 20, 2023, covering the updates from April 14, 2023) lists "Free file uploads up to 25MB" and says: "The limit has been raised from 8MB to 25MB." Before, Discord's Nitro help article (archived October 3, 2022) said: "Normally, you can upload individual files up to 8mb at a time." Shacknews (April 11, 2023) reported Discord's April 10, 2023 post on X announcing the increase; the date here is the changelog's, the earliest official date found. Nitro Basic (50MB) and Nitro (500MB) were unchanged.
